   Willie Dixon was without doubt the ultimate blues songwriter, sideman, and producer. It is impossible to overestimate his importance. He was a monster force in the post-war Chicago blues scene as well as a decisive influence on modern rock `n' roll music.

   This 2nd pressing has bold artist / title text on labels. LP housed in company catalog sleeve. In it was reissued with similar looking cover but bar-coded: I Am The Blues. Matrix 1G and 1H should be an early repressing with new label matching this description, but still from tape 1.

   "Little Red Rooster" is a blues standard credited to arranger and songwriter Willie Dixon. The song was first recorded in by American blues musician Howlin' Wolf in the Chicago blues style. His vocal and slide guitar playing are key elements of the song. It is rooted in the Delta blues tradition and the theme is derived from folklore. Musical antecedents to "Little Red Rooster" appear in earlier songs by blues .
